Station Sales After leasing 98.3 WPKV Duquesne/Pittsburgh PA for seven years, Educational Media Foundation is excercising its option to purchase the station from Forever Media’s FM Radio Licenses for $6.7 million and two translators. Forever will acquire 105.5 W288BO Pittsburgh and 96.7 W244BR Springfield OH. Forever also announced its acquisition of 94.3 WINX-FM and 96.7 WCEI-FM from First Media Radio for $6.5 million. First Media Radio is also selling its remaining assets in West Central Pennsylvania to Seven Mountains Media. Following the sign-off of Modern Rock “New Rock 107.3” KURQ Grover Beach/San Luis Obispo at the end of June, we now know who is operating the El Dorado Broadcasters owned station. Gerardo Ceja’s Gold Coast Radio, the owner of Regional Mexican “La M 103.7” KMLA El Rio/Ventura is now simulcasting on KURQ. KMLA currently leads the Oxnard/Ventura market with a 7.9 share as of the Fall 2015 Nielsen Audio ratings. The simulcast does have a coverage hole over Lompoc and Santa Barbara.
In addition to the sale of News/Talk 920 KVEC and transfer of the IP of AC “Coast 101.3” KSTT to American General Media’s Classic Hits “Q104.5” KIQO Atascadero, El Dorado Broadcasters has seemingly shut down operations in San Luis Obispo CA. Modern Rock “New Rock 107.3” KURQ Grover Beach ceased broadcasting at midnight and was replaced with a Regional Mexican format. Additionally the web presence for Country “96.1 SLO Country” KSLY-FM San Luis Obispo has gone missing and no word on what is now on 101.3 KJRW following the move of KSTT.
