Following the completion of the move of 104.3 WAXY-FM from West Palm Beach into the Miami market, Midway Broadcasting has applied to upgrade the signal of 104.7 WFLM White City. The station has proposed to move to the Indian River Community College tower site of 88.9 WQCS Fort Pierce where it would shift to 104.5 and upgrade from a Class C3 operating with 17.5kW at 119 meters to a C2 with 50kW at 113.2 meters. As they exercise their option to purchase 1490 KLGO Austin and 99.3 KOKE-FM Thorndale, TX from REO Radio Group for $3.2 Million, Genuine Austin Radio has applied to increase the FM from a Class A operating with 6kW at 100 meters to a C3 with 24kW at 100 meters. The FCC has begun to clear out the list of translator applications from 2003 that have been stuck in limbo while LPFM rules were set. With those now in place, hundreds of applications have been dismissed. Recnet features a list of the applications that remain active following the purge. Chicago Public Media has completed the move of 90.5 WRTE Chicago to 90.7. With the move to downtown Chicago, the station has relaunched with the user-generated programming of “Vocalo“, which is also heard on 89.5 WBEW Chesterton, IN. Its previous Spanish “Radio Arte” programming remains online.
