Cumulus Media Hot AC “Mix 107.3” WRQX Washington DC has imported Corinna Delgado as their new midday host. Delgado joins WRQX from weekends at co-owned CHR 104.1 KRBE Houston. She continues to voicetrack middays at Alaska Integrated Media CHR “Movin 105.7” KMVN Anchorage, where she previously served as morning co-host and Digital Director. Two Cumulus Media programmers are swapping stations as Rob Roberts is promoted to Vice President/Hot AC for the company. As part of his promotion Roberts will relocate to Washington DC and add day-to-day PD duties for Hot AC “Mix 107.3” WRQX. Louie Diaz, who has programmed WRQX for the past year, will head to Atlanta as Operations Manager for the market and PD of CHR “Q100” 99.7 WWWQ. Jake McCann has been promoted to the VP/Market Manager position from his role as Vice President of Sales for the cluster. Cumulus announced this morning that 107.3 WRQX Washington DC will revert to its former “Mix 107.3” identity on Friday, November 13. The relaunch will take place with a shift to Christmas music for the holiday season and the return of former morning host Jack Diamond. Diamond hosted mornings at WRQX during its previous “Mix” run from 1990 until 2013 when the station made its move to CHR. Jan Jeffries Exits Cumulus

The first major person to follow Lew and John Dickey out at Cumulus is Jan Jeffries, Senior Vice President of Programming/Program Director of Hot AC “All The Hits 107.3” WRQX Washington DC. Jeffries had served as SVP/Programming for Cumulus since 2007 and at one point was heavily involved in the on-air sound of all of the company’s music stations. While with the company he has also served as day-to-day PD of CHR “i106.7” WNFN Nashville and Classic Hits 94.7 WLS-FM Chicago. Prior to joining Cumulus, the longtime radio veteran programmed at WABB Mobile, WBSB Baltimore, WCGO and WLS Chicago, WRBQ Tampa, and WSTR Atlanta, ran his own consulting company and served as President of Stratford Research. Cumulus CHR “All The Hits 107.3” WRQX Washington DC completes its on-air revamping under new Program Director Rick Gillette with the addition of a new morning show. “Sarah, Ty & Mel” featuring Sarah Fraser, Ty Bentli and Melanie Glazener will debut on Wednesday, July 30. Fraser is a former co-host of the Kane Show on Clear Channel’s “Hot 99.5” WIHT. WRQX Drops Bert Show

Just shy of hitting their one year anniversary in the Washington market, Cumulus CHR “All The Hits 107.3” WRQX is dropping the Bert Weiss led syndicated Bert Show at the end of the week. DCRTV.com reports that the station will shift afternoon host Marco to mornings on an interim basis while searching for a new locally-based replacement. The move comes as new Program Director Rick Gillette begins to make his mark on the station. WRQX has struggled since replacing Jack Diamond with Bert last May and then shifting from Hot AC to CHR in August. The station registered a 2.1 share in the March 2014 PPMs, well behind Clear Channel’s “Hot 99.5” WIHT’s 7.2.
