Piolin Adds New Affiliates In Dallas & Houston

Eddie “Piolin” Sotelo expands his syndication footprint with new affiliates in Dallas and Houston. In Dallas, the show will air in middays from 10am to 2pm on CBS Regional Mexican “La Grande 107.5” KMVK. The show will be localized with inserts by former KMVK night host Pelos Parados. El Bolillo will move from middays to nights. Latino Broadcasting Corportation’s “La Mejor 104.5” K283CH/KTBZ-HD2 Houston will add Piolin for mornings airing live from 8am to 12pm. CBS Flips Mega 107.5 Dallas

CBS Spanish CHR “Mega 107.5” KMVK Dallas has flipped to Regional Mexican “La Grande 107.5“. Edgar ‘Shoboy’ Sotelo will remain in mornings with the new format. Pelos Parados joins for afternoons under PD Jimmy Gonzalez. KMVK registered 17th in the market with a 2.3 share in the June 2013 PPM monthly well behind Univision’s Regional Mexican “La Que Buena 94.1” KLNO which was third overall with a 4.8.

Amping Up In Dallas?

Was Clear Channel’s rebranding of 102.9 KDMX Dallas to “102.9 Now” on Friday in order to protect itself from a coming entry into the local CHR wars by CBS? CBS today has registered a trio of domains via MarkMonitor for potential use in Dallas. AMPRadioDFW.com, AmpRadio1053.com, and 1075AmpRadio.com. There are pros and cons for both frequencies. At 1:00pm CST, CBS Radio flipped Rhythmic AC “Movin 107.5” KMVK Dallas to Spanish Hot AC as “Mega 107.5“. Core artists on the new station include Shakira, Juanes, Marc Anthony, and Paulina Rubio. Mega is launching with the usual 10,000 songs in a row stunt.
