Univision Brings Amor To Five Markets

Univision rebranded their Spanish AC stations in five markets from “Más Variedad” to “Amor” on Tuesday. The five stations are 100.3 KBRG San Jose/San Francisco, 102.9 KLQV San Diego, 106.3 KOMR Sun City/Phoenix AZ, 106.5 KOVE Galveston/Houston, 107.7 KLJA Georgetown/Austin TX. Both KLQV and KOMR previously utilized the “Amor” branding. The five stations join “Amor 92.1” KRDA Clovis/Fresno, “Amor 106.7” WPPN Des Plaines/Chicago, and “Amor 107.5” WAMR-FM Miami utilizing the brand name.

Univision Launches New Morning Show In Four Markets

Univision has launched El Show de Renzo & Maria Esther in mornings in four of its markets. Renzo y Maria Esther will originate at Spanish AC “106.5 Más Variedad” KOVE Houston and will also air on “102.9 Más Variedad” KLQV San Diego, “Amor 106.7” WPPN Chicago, and “107.7 Más Variedad” KLJA Austin. Renzo Heredia has worked for Univision Houston since 1999 and most recently hosted middays at 106.5 KOVE. Maria Esther most recently was hosting middays at Univision’s “107.5 K-Love” KLVE Los Angeles.

El Sancho Debuts; La Jefa Moves In Austin

Since the debut of Emmis’ “Latino 102.7” K274AX in May, it and sister Regional Mexican “107.1 La Z” KLZT have cut into Univision’s pair of Regional Mexicans “La Que Buena 104.3” KLQB Austin and “La Jefa 107.7” KLJA Georgetown. Now to counter, Univision has revamped its two stations in the market. 104.3 KLQB has taken the “La Jefa” brand from 107.7 with a Regional Mexican format dedicated to “the greatest hits of all time” with core artists including Vicente Fernandez, Tigres Del Norte, Banda Recodo, Heavy, Espinoza Paz, Joan Sebastian, Duelo, and La Arrolladora Banda Limon.
