On August 17, Adams Radio Group moved the Classic Rock format of “Big 98.5” WGBG Seaford DE to the larger 107.7 signal that had been home to Country “K107.7” WKHI Fruitland MD. After weeks of simulcasting and then a few days running a redirect loop, Adams has launched a new format on what is now 98.5 WUSX Seaford. “US 98.5” is gold leaning Country outlet positioning itself as “Everything Country”. K107.7 Gives Way To Big Classic Rock In Delmarva

Adams Radio Group Classic Rock “Big 98.5” WGBG Seaford DE has begun simulcasting on 107.7 WKHI Fruitland/Salisbury MD as it prepares to move permanently to the bigger signal. The move, which took place at 5pm today, places WGBG on the class B1 107.7 signal that covers the entire Salisbury/Ocean City market as opposed to the Class A rimshot of 98.5. WKHI had been running Country as “Your Country K107.7“. A new format will debut on 98.5 in the coming weeks. Adams Radio Group has hired Paul Burton as its new Vice President/General Manager for its Salisbury/Ocean City MD cluster. Burton most recently served as VP/Sales of iHeartMedia Salisbury until exiting last October. He is the third person to lead the cluster since Adams acquired the former Great Scott Broadcasting in late 2014. Back in March when Adams Radio Group closed on its acquisition of Great Scott’s Salisbury/Ocean City, MD cluster, the first move they made was to drop the Country format at “Hot Country 107.7” WKHI Fruitland, MD to begin simulcasting Classic Rock “Big 98.5” WGBG Seaford, DE. The intent at the time was to simulcast for a period and then launch a new format on 98.5 once WKHI completed its upgrade from a Class A to B1 with 23kW at 105 meters (Coverage Map). Phil LoCascio joins the company as Market Manager.
