Beasley Media has appointed Dennis Gwiazdon as its new Vice President/Market Manager for its Las Vegas properties. Gwiazdon joins Beasley from Midwest Communications where he had overseen their Nashville properties since 2001. He has also served as VP/GM for Nationwide Communications in San Diego and Brown Broadcasting in San Diego, Salt Lake City, and Seattle as well as President of Sales Insights for Coleman Insights. Beasley Modern Rock “107.9 The Alternative” KVGS Las Vegas dropped its format at 12am this morning and has flipped to Variety Hits as “107.9 Bob-FM“. The move returns the format to the Las Vegas market for the first time since CBS flipped “100.5 Jack-FM” KKJJ to News/Talk in August 2010. 107.9 has been Modern Rock since 2005, first as “Area 108” and “Area 107.9” before rebranding as “The Alternative” in 2009. The move takes it out of direct competition with CBS’ “X107.5” KXTE.
