Brett Beshore Named iHeartMedia Indianapolis Market Manager

The Indianapolis Business Journal reports that iHeartMedia has appointed Brett Beshore as VP/Market Manager for its four station cluster in Indianapolis. Beshore joins iHeartMedia from Clear Channel Outdoor where has served as an Indianapolis based Division President since 2011 and Adams & Fairway Outdoor Advertising where he was Region President. Prior to that he served as VP/Market Manager at Clear Channel Hudson Valley, Times-Shamrock Scranton, Cumulus Media Danbury CT, and Sabre Communications Munice IN. He also spent five years as General Sales Manager at Greater Media Philadelphia. iHeartMedia is transferring Mike Killabrew from Des Moines to Indianapolis to serve as SVP/Programming of Classic Rock “Q95” 94.7 WFBQ, Country “Big 98.3” WUBG, Alternative “Alt 103.3” WOLT, and Sports “Fox Sports 97.5” 1260 WNDE. He will also serve as PD of WFBQ and WOLT. Killabrew had been working as PD of sister Alternative “Alt 106.3” KDXA and Sports 1460 KXNO Des Moines for the past two years. Translator Moves 97.5 W248AW Franklin, IN has applied to modify its move to Indianapolis with a shift to an adjacent tower with 150 watts at 276 meters rebroadcasting Sports 1260 WNDE Indianapolis (Coverage Map). iHeartMedia is in the process of acquiring the translator from Educational Media Foundation, which was originally being disputed by Emmis on the condition that iHeart intended to rebroadcast an HD subchannel of 94.7 WFBQ on the translator. iHeart responded by stating that was to be a temporary condition to close the sale, but now agrees to keep the translator rebroadcasting WNDE for four years as required by the Mattoon Waiver and Emmis has dropped its Petition For Reconsideration. Cup O’Dirt LLC is selling 80s Hits “Sunny Radio” 1520 KZOY/92.1 K221FO Sioux Falls, SD to Charles Brennan’s Badlands Airtime, LLC for $1.5 million. Not included in the sale are the current “Sunny Radio” format, intellectual property and KZOY call letters, which will remain with Cup O’Dirt and continue on their 1250 KZOI Dakota City, NE. Speaking on KZOI, Cup O’Dirt is also acquiring 97.5 K248ZY Sioux City, IA to rebroadcast the station. First Ventures Capital Partners will receive $50,000 for the translator and file an application within the next 30 days to relocate the translator to KZOI’s tower site. Pair Of Indianapolis Morning Show Changes

Emmis News/Talk 93.1 WIBC and Clear Channel Sports 1260 WNDE Indianapolis are launching new morning shows. At WIBC, The Indianapolis Business Journal reports Steve Simpson has exited as host of the “Indy’s Morning News” morning show after 22 years with the station. Conservative Host Tony Katz who hosts 9pm to Midnight on WIBC from Los Angeles will relocate to Indianapolis to take over the morning show beginning on June 30. Katz’ program will de-emphasize News, Traffic, and Weather. Meanwhile, WNDE today debuted the syndicated “Rover’s Morning Glory” for the 6-9am slot. Based at sister Rock 100.7 WMMS Cleveland, WNDE becomes Rover’s seventh current affiliate. Rover replaces Fox Sports Daybreak on 1260.
