OKC’s Franchise Expands To Tulsa

Tyler Media Sports “107.7 The Franchise” KRXO Oklahoma City quietly began simulcasting in Tulsa last week. 1270 KTUZ Claremore moved its Regional Mexican “La Z” format to 1570 KZLI Catoosa/101.9 K270BK Tulsa after a few weeks of simulcasting. Tyler Media owns a translator CP for 107.9 K300CY Broken Arrow that will eventually rebroadcast 1270. The one thing that cannot be simulcast in both markets is Oklahoma University Football that originates on KRXO. iHeartMedia’s Sports “1430 The Buzz” KTBZ and Rock 97.5 KMOD own the Tulsa rights.

Station Sales Week Of 7/17: EMF Grows In Arizona Too

While the focus has been on their expansion in South Florida this week, Educational Media Foundation is also growing in Arizona. Grand Canyon Broadcasters sells 90.7 KGCB Prescott, 90.7 K214DT Flagstaff, and 101.9 K270BA Wickenburg to EMF for $1 million. Upon closing of the sale KGCB will flip from its locally programmed “90.9 Shine-FM” Christian AC format to “K-Love“. Tyler Media is purchasing three translators around Tulsa, OK. John Jason Bennett sells 107.7 K299BL Tulsa and 107.9 K300CY Coweta to Tyler for $480,000, while Bennett’s Screen Door Broadcasting sells 107.7 K299BP Coweta for $10,000.
