Major Layoffs Hit Canada’s Rogers Media

Rogers Media has announced it has laid off 94 employees, making up about 2 percent of its workforce. The cuts will lead to programming changes at a few of their stations. Both The Ottawa Citizen and MetroNews Halifax report that “1310 News” CIWW Ottawa and “News 95.7” CJNI will replace their midday news programming with a simulcast of Sports talk from “Sportsnet 590” CJCL Toronto.
