ESPN Lehigh Valley To Flip To Fox Sports

Connoisseur Media Sports “ESPN 1230/1320” 1230 WEEX Easton/1320 WTKZ Allentown PA will change network affiliations to Fox Sports Radio as of September 1. The station will retain the local “Happy Hour” hosted by Program Director Tom Fallon and Matt Markus as well as Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs baseball, New York Giants football, and Lehigh University sports. The former third part of the WEEX/WTKZ simulcast, 1160 WBYN Lehighton has been off the air since April due to the theft of its copper radials and ground system. ESPN network programming can be heard in parts of the Lehigh Valley market on Beasley Media’s 610 WTEL Philadelphia and ESPN’s 98.7 WEPN-FM New York.

ESPN Lehigh Valley Expands To Third Signal

Connoisseur Media Sports “ESPN Lehigh Valley” 1230 WEEX Easton/1320 WTKZ Allentown PA added a third signal on New Years Day as 1160 WBYN Lehighton begins airing the programming. WBYN had been airing a Christian Preaching format as “The Light” since 2005. The previous format began to assume the format of 107.5 WBYN-FM Boyertown/Reading following that station’s LMA to Nassau Broadcasting in 2005. After the LMA ended in March 2009, the Christian format returned to that frequency making 1160 redundant. 1160 WBYN covers the northwestern side of the Lehigh Valley market

Connoisseur To Acquire Nassau’s New Jersey & Pennsylvania Stations

Update 12/3: Connoisseur has gained approval from U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge Kevin Gross to assume operations of the Nassau stations in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and has begun operating the stations via LMA. Original Report 11/21: Connoisseur Media has agreed to acquire the remaining Nassau Broadcasting stations in New Jersey and Pennsylvania for the $38.7 Million credit bid made by Goldman Sachs, Fortress Capital and P.E. Capital plus $1,633,890 in administrative costs. Should the deal be approved by the bankruptcy court next week, Connoisseur will begin operating the stations immediately via LMA.
