Forever Media continues the restructuring of its recently acquired cluster in Cumberland MD. The most recent change is AC “105.7 The River” 1450 WTBO/105.7 W289BR Cumberland MD relaunching as CHR “Happy 105.7“. The station is now carrying the WNCI Columbus based syndicated Dave & Jimmy morning show and programming from Westwood One including WWKL Harrisburg’s Venetia in middays, WZNS Fort Walton Beach’s Hayden in afternoons and Zach Sang & The Gang at night. Forever Media Acquires Cumberland, MD Cluster

Dix Communications has sold their Cumberland, MD cluster to Forever Media for an undisclosed amount. Included in the sale are Country 105.3 WFRB-FM, Classic Rock “Go 106.1” WKGO, News/Talk 560 WFRB, and AC “105.7 The River” 1450 WTBO/105.7 W289BR. Dix had announced their intentions earlier this month to sell the Maryland stations and two non-core newspapers. Forever currently has 45 stations in Central and Western Pennsylvania and Wheeling, WV. Dix Communications also owns four stations in Gainesville/Ocala, FL and two in its home market of Wooster, OH. After a brief April Fools Day stunt looping various versions of “Proud Mary”, Dix Communications has flipped Adult Standards 1450 WTBO/105.7 W289BR Cumberland, MD to AC “105.7 The River“. Playing “Hits from the 80’s, 90’s and Now”, WTBO will also carry Baltimore Orioles baseball, Pittsburgh Steelers football, and Fort Hill High School football. The W289BR translator had been rebroadcasting sister Country 105.3 WFRB-FM Frostburg. WTBO adds FM Frequency at 105.7 and takes to “The River” Cumberland Radio listeners, who tuned to WTBO AM 1450 or 105.7 FM, a Cumberland frequency for sister station WFRB FM, were awakened to the sounds of the song “Proud Mary” repeatedly on April Fools day.
