Other shows that will air on KTZR include Trending Today with Rusty Humphries from 9am-12pm, Michael Savage from 12-3pm, Michael Berry 3-5pm, Rob Hunter 5-6pm, America Now with Meghan McCain 6-9pm and 12am-3am, Ground Zero 9pm-12am, and Alex Jones 3-6am. KTZR will also serve as the flagship for the new Tucson Roadrunners of the American Hockey League.
Following the revamping of “92.9 The Mountain” KWMT-FM to “My 92.9” on Friday, Clear Channel has announced two more programming shifts in Tucson. Spanish AC “Mia 97.1” KTZR will drop that format in place of a simulcast of sister News/Talk 790 KNST on Monday, November 28. KTZR’s calls and syndicated morning host Alex “El Genio” Lucas have slid to 1450 KWFM as “La Preciosa 1450” displacing 24/7 Comedy’s “Funny 1450” programming. KNST joins Journal Broadcasting’s “104.1 The Truth” KQTH as News/Talkers on the FM band. In the most recent trend, KNST was barely ahead of KQTH in overall market share. The move should help KNST add younger demographics to its core audience.
