The FCC has quickly acted on the STA request made by Riviera Broadcasting to accelerate its move of 96.1 K241BQ Fort McDowell AZ to Phoenix' South Mountain prior to the granting of its Construction Permit by denying it. The FCC states that "K27OBZ's problems do not justify STA for K241BQ. Nor does the STA request supersede the need for a construction permit before such changes can be made. Finally, we do not consider STA requests made for the convenience of the applicant." K241BQ cannot move to South Mountain until the application is granted.
