Aruba Capital Holdings & Port Broadcasting Finally Merge

More than a year after announcing a three-way merger with Garrison City Broadcasting that never was completed, Aruba Capital Holdings and Port Broadcasting are finally merging their holdings in Coastal New England. Andrew Hartmann will contribute his Aruba Capital Holdings’ “Classic Rock 92.1” 1540 WXEX/97.1 W246BP Exeter NH and 92.1 WXEX-FM Sanford ME into Port Broadcasting for a 29.1% stake in the company that will be combined with his post-merger 26.9% personal stake. The station’s application proposes placing KXFM on an existing tower on Rincon Peak where it would downgrade from a Class B to B1 with 1.3kW at 427 meters (Coverage Map). Port Broadcasting, Aruba Capital Holdings and Garrison City Broadcasting have announced they will be merging to create Coastal Media Partners. The new group will be operated by Port’s Carl Strube and Pete Falconi. Port Broadcasting had begun operating Aruba Capital Holdings’ 1540 WXEX Exeter, NH and 92.1 WXEX-FM Sanford, ME via LMA in April and relaunched them as “Classic Rock 92.1” earlier this month. Pete Falconi and Carl Strube’s Port Broadcasting will begin operating Aruba Capital Holdings’ Classic Hits 1540 WXEX Exeter, NH/92.1 WXEX-FM Sanford, ME via LMA effective immediately. The WXEX combo will join Port Broadcasting’s 1450 WNBP/106.1 W291CC Newburyport, MA and 1220 WWSF/102.3 W272CG Sanford, ME in creating full coverage of the New England coast from the Massachusetts/New Hampshire border up to just south of Portland.
