After launching AAA “95.7 That Station” 1550 WCLY/95.7 W239CK Raleigh on May 1 with a name the station contest, Capitol Broadcasting has settled on retaining the placeholder name permanently. With several hundred submissions overwhelmingly choosing to keep the placeholder name permanently, Dee Dee Black was selected as the winner of a $1,000 prize the charity of their choosing with Cause For Paws of North Carolina being the recipient. Capitol Broadcasting Launches That Station In Raleigh

Capitol Broadcasting is shuffling some of its AM and translator programming in Raleigh as it launches a new AAA currently branded as “That Station“. Capitol has moved the Sports format branded as “The Ticket” from 1550 WCLY/95.7 W239CK Raleigh to 620 WDNC Durham and 99.9 WCMC-HD3 Holly Springs. The secondary Sports “Buzz” format moves off of WDNC but continues on 96.5 W243DK Durham and 99.3 W257CS Morrisville via WCMC-HD2. Capitol To Launch Third Raleigh Sports Talker

Capitol Broadcasting Company will launch a third Sports station in its Raleigh cluster on Monday, February 29. 1550 WCLY Raleigh will flip from Spanish Sports “ESPN Deportes 1550” to a mix of programming from CBS Sports Radio, Fox Sports Radio and ESPN Radio branded as “1550 The Ticket” taking over the branding utilized by 99.9 WCMC-HD3. The Ticket’s lineup will feature CBS’ Gio & Jones from 6-9am, Fox Sports’ Dan Patrick from 9am-12pm, Jim Rome 12-3pm, and ESPN’s Ryen Rusillo & Danny Kanell from 3-6pm on a two hour delay.
