Salem Media has adjusted the brands and programming lineups at three of its Portland OR AMs. Talk 860 KPAM Pamplin, which Salem begin operating via LMA earlier this year, has rebranded as “860 The Answer“. With the rebranding KPAM has trimmed an hour off of its morning show hosted by Tim Hohl and Terry Travis to run from 6-9am. That allows the station to add a third hour of Salem’s Dennis Prager Show which will now run from 9am-12pm. From 12-3pm the station swaps out the Clark Howard Show for Laura Ingraham. FCC Actions Hubbard Radio has been granted its Petition For Reconsideration over the Informal Objections filed by Thomas-Dale District 7 Planning Council and Jeff Sibert to relocate 94.9 K235BI Bemidji MN to 94.1 in Minneapolis with 2w horizontal/246m rebroadcasting Sports “1500 ESPN” KSTP St. Paul. The objectors alleged the translator would create interference to 94.1 WFNU-LP St. Paul, but after suggesting 104.9 would be a usable frequency for the translator (which it cannot be after the grant of K285CQ St. Paul this week) and Hubbard dropped the proposed power from 10 watts to 2, the FCC could not find any WFNU-LP listener address which would be within the 60dBu contour of the translator. Station Deletions United Broadcasting Company has requested the deletion of 630 KTKK Sandy and 1510 KLLB West Jordan UT in the Salt Lake City market. Both stations have been silent since May when KTKK's Talk programming was moved to sister 1640 KBJA Sandy. KTKK had been operating via STA from KLLB's tower, which was demolished in June.
Salem Communications has begun closing on the final round of stations it acquired from Disney. 1640 KDZR Lake Oswego/Portland OR has flipped to a mix of Business and Conservative Talk as “Talk 1640“. The new lineup includes conservative talkers Mike Gallagher from 6-9am, Dennis Prager 9am-12pm, Hugh Hewitt 3-6pm, Steve Deace 7-10pm, Eric Metaxes 10pm-1am and Bill Bennett 3-6am. Business programs will include Bill Gunderson 12-apm (repeated at 1am), Del Walmsley 1-2pm (repeated at 2am), Ray Lucia 2-3pm, and Moe Ansari 6-7pm.
