Birach Broadcasting has announced that 540 WWCS Canonsburg/Pittsburgh, PA will flip to Sports as “Fox Sports 540” in January. WWCS has been simulcasting sister Regional Mexican “Explosiva 1480” WSDS Detroit this year following the end of its LMA with Disney, who moved their Radio Disney programming to 1250 WEAE (now WDDZ) on January 1. As part of that shuffle, the ESPN programming on 1250 moved to Clear Channel’s 970 WBGG which in turn dropped its Fox Sports affiliation. WWCS will run the Fox Sports Radio network programming and Premiere Radio Networks’ Jim Rome Show, which is syndicated independently from FSR.
