Darren Arriens Joins Entercom Charlotte As Director Of Operations

Entercom has hired Darren Arriens as Director of Operations for its Charlotte NC cluster. Arriens joins Entercom from the Program Director position at Cumulus Country “93.7 Kiss Country” KSKS Fresno. He has also spent time as Director of Programming for Treasure Coast Radio in Florida, Operations Manager for Cumulus Grand Rapids, and Midwest Regional Director of Programming for Citadel Broadcasting. Matt Hanlon Named Market Manager For Entercom Charlotte

As Entercom begins operating News/Talk 1110 WBT Charlotte/99.3 WBT-FM Chester SC and Hot AC “107.9 The Link” WLNK Charlotte today ahead of its acquisition of those and Sports “610 The Fan” WFNZ Charlotte, the company has named Matt Hanlon as its new Market Manager. Hanlon succeeds Rick Feinblatt who was running the cluster for Greater Media. He previously served as Midwest regional president for Citadel Broadcasting and SVP/Sales for Townsquare Media. Entercom Acquires Beasley Charlotte Spinoffs And WFNZ

Beasley Media has agreed to sell four stations in the Charlotte NC market to Entercom for $24 million. Entercom will acquire Greater Media’s News/Talk 1110 WBT Charlotte/99.3 WBT-FM Chester SC and Hot AC “107.9 The Link” WLNK Charlotte as well as Beasley’s Sports “610 The Fan” WFNZ/102.5 W273DA Charlotte. The Greater Media stations were to be placed in a divestiture trust when Beasley closed on its acquisition of the company. Instead Entercom will begin operating WBT/WBT-FM and WLNK via Time Brokerage Agreement when Beasley closes on its acquisition of Greater Media, which Entercom anticipates taking place on November 1. Beasley Media Sports “610 The Fan” WFNZ Charlotte NC has made the move to FM with the addition of 102.5 W273DA Charlotte. W273DA is owned by Educational Media Foundation and rebroadcasts WFNZ via Beasley’s 103.7 WSOC-HD2. The 200 watt/160 meter signal best covers downtown Charlotte and its northwest suburbs. Beasley Media’s Sports Radio WFNZ-AM (The Fan)/Charlotte moves to the FM dial, simulcasting on 102.5 FM. The Sporits outlet initially was only found on WFNZ-AM at 610 and WSOC-HD2 at 103.7. CBS Radio and Beasley Broadcasting have agreed to exchange 19 stations in four markets. CBS will acquire five stations from Beasley: Country 92.5 WXTU and Rhythmic CHR “Wired 96.5” WRDW-FM Philadelphia along with Sports 560 WQAM, Rhythmic CHR “Power 96” WPOW-FM, and Country “99.9 Kiss Country” WKIS in Miami.
