James Crystal Bankruptcy Update

Update 4/7: Jorgenson is paying $5.5 million for the four James Crystal Radio stations. He began operating them via LMA on March 3. Update 4/4: It had been fairly quiet since the auction of the four James Crystal Radio stations took place on March 2. Now we know via Tom Taylor Now that the credit bid by Atalaya Capital was the only bid for the stations, which will soon be transferred to a new group headed by auction broker Mark Jorgenson. The new group is currently operating Sports 640 WMEN Royal Palm Beach, News/Talk 850 WFTL West Palm Beach, Brokered Brazillian 1400 WFLL Fort Lauderdale, and Brokered Christian 1480 KBXD Dallas via LMA. Florida Host Fired For Second Time This Year Over Tweet

MSome people need to stay off social media. For the second time this year, sports talk host Dan Sileo has been fired from a station for something he tweeted. “640 Sports” WMEN Royal Palm Beach parted ways with their midday host after he offered a $1000 bounty to any University of Miami player who would injure Florida State’s Devonta Freeman. Sileo had joined WMEN in August following his termination from 560 WQAM Miami in March. Part of the supposed cause for his dismissal at WQAM were sexist tweets directed at Fox Sports’ Erin Andrews. He had also been fired from WDAE Tampa in 2012 for calling three Tampa Bay Buccaneer players “monkeys”. NBC Sports Radio Reveals Inaugural Affiliates

Launching on Tuesday, September 4, NBC Sports Radio has revealed the list of stations that will carry their programming. The network is launching with three programs that will air from 7pm to 5am Eastern along with sports updates around the clock. As of now, eight stations will air all three programs. They are: 1510 WWZN Boston 640 WMEN Miami 1040 WHBO Tampa 1080 WHOO Orlando 560 WNSR Nashville 560/87.7 WHBQ Memphis 1160 WODY Martinsville VA 103.9 WNTC Drakesboro KY Including those eight the Erik Kuselias show will clear 42 stations at launch.
