Cumulus Appoints New Mobile Market Manager

Cumulus Media has promoted Don Boyd to VP/Market Manager of its five stations in Mobile AL. Boyd has spent the past three years as General Sales Manager for the company’s Atlanta GA properties and also worked for the company from 2001-2008 as GSM of its Nashville properties. He has also served as Regional Manager for Bott Radio Network, Vice President of Advertising for Dickey Publishing, Regional Generl Manager of Root Communications during his career. Jimmy Steele Joins Cumulus Mobile As Operations Manager

Cumulus Media has appointed Jimmy Steele as Operations Manager for its five stations in Mobile AL and Program Director of Conservative Talk 660 WXQW. Steele most recently served as PD/Morning Host of iHeartMedia Rock AC “Y102.5” WRFY and Spanish CHR “Rumba 92.3” 1340 WRAW Reading PA until his exit in February. He has also served as SVP/Programming for iHeartMedia Salisbury MD, Director of Operations/Brand Manager for Saga Communications Columbus OH, OM/Director of Programming for Clear Channel San Diego, VP/Programming and PD of CHR 97.9 WNCI Columbus OH, and PD of CHR “107.5 The River” WRVW Nashville. Cumulus Launches Mobile Talker

Cumulus Media has flipped 660 WXQW Fairhope/Mobile, AL from a simulcast of Gospel 900 WGOK Mobile to Talk. The station is running all syndicated content including Doug Stephan’s “Good Day”, Chris Plante, Phil Valentine, Mark Levin, Red Eye Radio, America In The Morning, and CBS Sports Radio. All except Doug Stephan are distributed by Cumulus’ Westwood One. WXQW becomes the third Talk station in the Mobile market joining iHeartMedia’s 710 WNTM and Bigler Broadcasting’s “FM Talk 106.5” WAVH.
