WOKV Names Nick Figueredo As Director of Branding/Programming

Cox Media Group News/Talk 104.5 WOKV-FM/690 WOKV Jacksonville FL has named Nick Figueredo as its Director of Branding and Programming. Figueredo joins WOKV from sister 96.5 WDBO-FM Orlando where he has spent his entire seven year radio career starting as an intern and most recently as Assistant Program Director. He replaces Aaron Schachter, who was promoted to Director of Digital Content for Cox Media Jacksonville in September. Hermain Cain To End Syndication; Remain On Cox Stations

Former Presidential candidate Herman Cain is ending his nationally syndicated talk show after four years. Cain, who is based at Cox News/Talk 750 WSB Atlanta/95.5 WSBB Doraville GA, began his show in January 2013 to replace the retiring Neal Boortz. As of October 5, Cain’s program was carried by 109 stations across the country. WYM Media Management and DGital Media had supplanted Westwood One as distributor of the program at the start of 2016. WOKV Jacksonville Moves To 104.5

With the retirement of “Rock 104.5” out of the way, Cox has given the 98.8kW signal of WFYV Atlantic Beach, FL to sister News/Talk 690/106.5 WOKV. The midnight flip comes after a few days of stunting that teased five potential formats, none of which came to pass. Currently WOKV’s programming is airing on all three stations in the market, despite the new station logo only emphasizing 104.5. WOKV was one of the first stations to begin the recent trend of simulcasting on FM in 2006, when Christian AC “106.5 The Promise” WBGB Ponte Vedra Beach was sold to Cox and became WOKV-FM.
