FCC Report 5/7: Big Downgrade For Bismarck AM

AM Changes iHeartMedia Sports "Fox Sports 710" KXMR Bismarck ND currently utilizes seven towers split between two sites. It is seeking to consolidate all operations on what is currently its four tower nighttime array, but in doing so will downgrade its daytime power from 50kW to 4kW, while retaining its current 4kW night operation. The current 3 towers right off of Interstate 94 in Menoken which is home to KXMR's 50kW day and 13kW critical hours operation will be removed. After seven years as “ESPN Radio 710” Clear Channel Sports KXMR Bismarck has dropped the network. KXMR has rebranded as “710 The Fan” and airing a mixture of programming from sister “KFAN” 100.3 KFXN Minneapolis and Fox Sports Radio. The new KXMR lineup includes KFAN’s Power Trip from 6-9am, Paul Allen from 9am-12pm, and Dan Barreiro from 3-7pm. Fox Sports Radio programming includes Jay Mohr Sports from 12-3pm, TMZ Sports from 7-8pm, and all night and weekend hours. Prior to flipping to ESPN in 2007, KXMR had simulcast then 1130 KFAN Minneapolis’ regional network.
