Delmarva Country Station Rebrands… And Reverts After C&D

GSB Broadcasting relaunched Classic Country “Wow 101.5/87.7” WOWZ-FM Chincoteague VA/WOWZ-LP Salisbury MD as “Cat Country” today. By 2:00 the stations had reverted to its previous identity as they were served a Cease & Desist Letter by Adams Radio Group. Adams, which owns Country “K107.7” WKHI Fruitland MD in the Salisbury market, had acquired the Maryland trademark for “Cat Country” from Rothschild Broadcasting earlier this year. Rothschild operated “Cat Country 97.5” WKTT Salisbury until it sold it to RoJo Broadcasting in February and flipped to Urban “Live 97.5“. Twin Islands Media Group Acquires Eastern Shore Trio

Newly formed Twin Islands Media Group has announced it will acquire Variety Hits 96.5 WCTG from Sebago Broadcasting and Country “Wow 101.5” WOWZ Chincoteague VA from Jackman Holdings. The company will begin to operate both stations and Signal Above LLC’s 87.7 WDCO-LP Salisbury MD (which currently simulcasts WOWZ) on April 1. WCTG and WOWZ are both currently operated via LMA by GSB Broadcasting. Not included in the sale is GSB’s 92.5 WICO-FM Pocomoke City MD, which currently simulcasts WCTG.
