Radio Training Network closed on its acquisition of AAA “92.1 The Palm” WWNU Irmo/Columbia SC on Tuesday and flipped the station to its Christian AC “His Radio” network. The His Radio programming had been airing in Columbia on 106.3 W292EU Columbia via 96.7 WLTY-HD3. As of now the programming is simulcasting on both stations. Radio Training Network had agreed to acquire WWNU from Davis Media in April for $1 million. A sale of sister Country “94.3 The Dude” WWNQ Forest Acres to Midlands Media Group is still pending.
Davis Media is selling one half of its Columbia SC operation to Radio Training Network. RTN has filed to purchase AAA “92.1 The Palm” WWNU Irmo from Davis for $1 million. Radio Training Network owns multiple regional Christian AC networks including “His Radio” in North and South Carolina. WWNU will join 106.3 W292EU as their Columbia affiliates. Unaffected as of now are Davis Media’s Country “94.3 The Dude” WWNQ Forest Acres and their ColaDaily.com local news site.

Davis Media has agreed to purchase Soft AC “Carolina 92.1” WWNU and Classic Country “Country Legends 94.3” WWNQ Columbia, SC from Double O Radio for an undisclosed amount. Davis Media already owns AAA “92.3 The Tide” WTYD and Classical “W-Bach” WBQK in Williamsburg, VA and recently acquired Sea-Comm Media’s Wilmington, NC cluster of Classical 1180 WSFM/95.9 W240AS, Talk “The Big Talker” 93.7 WNTB/106.3 WLTT, AAA “98.3 The Penguin” WUIN, and Rock “103.7 The Bone” WBNE.
