Verstanding Broadcasting relaunched CHR “Now 92.1” WNUZ Greencastle PA/Hagerstown MD as “92.1 Hits-FM” on Friday, November 18. Launching the new brand with 10,000 songs commercial-free, the new brand is currently running jockless. WNUZ registered a 2.4 share in the Spring 2016 Nielsen Audio ratings placing it behind the two Alpha Media stations it is competing against: Adult CHR “Mix 95.1” WIKZ, which is currently in Christmas music mode and Rhythmic CHR “Wild 96.7” WDLD.
Vertstanding Broadcasting’s “Country Legends 92.1” WPPT Mercersburg PA/Hagerstown MD has dropped its format for CHR as “Now 92.1“. The station will run Jelli’s listener controlled programming from 6pm to 6am daily. In the Fall 2011 ratings, WPPT was fifth in the market with a 5.8 share. The move to CHR places the station between Main Line Broadcasting’s Hot AC “Mix 95.1” WIKZ and Rhythmic CHR “Wild 96.7” WDLD both of which tied for third with a 6.7 behind Verstandig’s Country 104.7 WAYZ and Rock 101.5 WBHB. The new logo features the WNUZ-FM calls however no application has been made for the calls. WNUZ is in place by Birmingham Christian Radio’s station on 1230 in Talladega, AL.
