Magnum Broadcasting has relaunched Country 92.5 WBWI West Bend/Milwaukee as “Buzz Country” WMBZ. The 92.5 signal rimshots the Milwaukee market from the northwest. In December Magnum flipped sister 92.1 WEZY Racine to Country as “Q92” WMKQ to cover the southern parts of the market. While both stations have unique Country formats and brands, Mike Sommers serves as PD for both. Magnum acquired both stations from Bliss Communications last year. David Magnum’s Magnum Broadcasting has announced the acquisition of four stations in suburban Milwaukee from subsidiaries of Bliss Communications. Magnum will be acquiring AC “Lite Rock 92.1” WEZY Racine and News/Talk 1440 WRJN Racine from Bliss’ Racine Broadcasting and Country 92.5 WBWI-FM West Bend and News/Talk 1470 WBKV West Bend from West Bend Broadcasting according to the Janesville Gazette. Terms of the sale have yet to be disclosed. Magnum currently owns 12 stations and two LPTV’s in Wisconsin along with an LPTV in Minnesota. Following the sale Bliss will retain the Janesville Gazette along with 1230 WCVL and Country 99.9 WJVL in Janesville.
