Michelle Tafoya Joins KQRS Morning Show

Cumulus Classic Rock “92 KQRS” 92.5 KQRS-FM Minneapolis has named Michelle Tafoya as co-host of Tom Barnard’s morning show. Tafoya will continue in her role as sideline reporter for NBC’s Sunday Night Football. She has long been involved in Minneapolis radio, starting as host and reporter for 1130 KFAN and later hosting an afternoon talk show on CBS’ 830 WCCO from 2009-2012. She also served as co-host of ESPN Radio’s syndicated Mike Tirico Show. Tom Barnard Signs Extension To Remain With KQRS

The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that the new contract is for five years keeping Barnard at KQRS through the end of 2019. Barnard will also have additional, unannounced duties at Cumulus in Minneapolis. Tom Barnard Takes Leave From KQRS From Substance Treatment (Updated)

Update 12:20pm: The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports via Barnard’s attorney that he will now remain on the air while undergoing treatment. Original Report 3/29 9:25am: Cumulus Classic Rock 92.5 KQRS Minneapolis morning host Tom Barnard will be taking a leave of absence from his morning show to enter treatment for substance abuse. Barnard stated that he has become reliant on wine and pills to go to sleep and wake up in time to do his morning show along with needing to control his anger.
