Following the shutdown of Martz Communication’s pair of HD fed translators, the company has begun selling off its properties in the market. 97.5 W248AQ Harrison MI has been sold to Salem Communications for $250,000 who will use it to rebroadcast Conservative Talk “1400 The Patriot” WDTK. Martz had purchased the translator last fall for $32,000 and had gained a CP to move it to 92.7 with 250 watts. Following the debut of “ESPN Deportes Chicago” 97.5 W248AO, EMF will be pairing with Clear Channel to launch a second translator in the city. 96.7 W244BQ Park Ridge has applied to operate with 85 watts at 1181 feet with a directional antenna pointed northwest away from WSSR Joliet. Detroit’s Bone & Oasis Go Dark

Martz Communications has ceased operations of its pair of HD fed translators in Detroit. While Smooth Jazz “The Oasis” had been operating on HD only while awaiting its move to 92.7, Modern Rock “94.3 The Bone” had just added the syndicated Bubba The Love Sponge for mornings. Both station’s Facebook pages feature the same statement: “All good things must come to an end. We’re sorry to say that The Oasis has ceased operations today. Thanks for your support Detroit. Martz Communications’ Radio Power Inc. is preparing to relaunch its “104.7 The Oasis” Detroit on 92.7 following being forced off the air in October. All references on the station’s website have been changed to 92.7. The translator to be used is the former 97.5 W248AQ Harrison, MI which is awaiting approval to move to 92.7 in Detroit with 250 watts. Martz has almost gotten one of its translators into Memphis. 103.1 W276BH Byhalia, MS. Its has now applied to make the final move where it will operate with 250 watts from a site east of the city. The translator is currently licensed to rebroadcast 90.1 WKNO, but that will shift to a commercial outlet when ready to launch.
