KXEN sought to drop power “in order to determine whether the potential benefits of reducing KXEN(AM)’s utility costs will outweigh the potential loss of listenership”. As the request was strictly made for economic reasons and not technical the FCC rules that it violates Section 309(f) of the Communications Act of 1934. FCC Rulings Educational Media Foundation's application for review of the grant of Razorcake/Gorsky Press' LPFM on 92.7 in Pasadena CA has been dismissed. EMF argued that the LPFM would create interference to its 92.7 KYLA Fountain Valley and it should not have been qualified for a second-adjacent interference waiver as it did not include co-channel interference in its filing. The FCC has denied WJBW Inc's petition to review a decision regrading the deletion of 104.5 W283AM Arcadia FL. WJBW sought to move W283AM to 104.7 in Jupiter FL rebroadcasting their 1000 WJBW Jupiter/West Palm Beach after purchasing it and another translator from Azure Media in November 2015. Update 12/3: EMF has announced it has agreed to purchase the 92.7 trimulcast. No terms have been disclosed. As we’ve reported below, EMF began programming the stations via LMA on December 1. Original Report 12/1: EMF Broadcasting has begun programming Amaturo Group’s three stations in Southern California. The stations which all circle around Los Angeles on 92.7 had aired a Variety Hits format as “Playlist 92.7” and have flipped to EMF’s Christian CHR “Air1” network. The three stations are KLST-FM Fountain Valley which covers portions of Orange County, KLSI Thousand Oaks which covers the westermost portions of the San Fernando Valley northwest of Los Angeles, and KLSN Adelanto serving the Victor Valley.
