Scotty K most recently co-hosted mornings at iHeartMedia CHR “Power 96.1” WWPW Atlanta where Bret Mega served as producer. The duo were let go in February prior to the addition of PK Kalentzis. Cumulus announced this morning that 107.3 WRQX Washington DC will revert to its former “Mix 107.3” identity on Friday, November 13. The relaunch will take place with a shift to Christmas music for the holiday season and the return of former morning host Jack Diamond. Diamond hosted mornings at WRQX during its previous “Mix” run from 1990 until 2013 when the station made its move to CHR. He will be joined in mornings by former co-hosts Jimmy Alexander and Erica Hilary. The Cumulus station had flipped from CHR to Classic Hip-Hop last month just hours before Radio-One launched the format on “Boom 94.5” KSOC Gainesville. First Cumulus CHR “Hot 93.3” KLIF-FM Haltom City launched what it is presenting as “Classic Hip-Hop For The Holidays” with a commercial-free weekend at 5:00pm. Launching with commercial free weekends, the station is promoting to have more music and fewer commercials per hour than iHeartMedia’s “106.1 Kiss-FM“. Cumulus announces that Top 40-formatted KLIF-FM has become the all-new HOT 93.3. The former i93 and heritage Dallas CHR station debuted its new Hot Upbeat CHR format today at 5:00 p.m. Central. Cumulus CHR “I93” KLIF-FM Haltom City, TX has applied to increase its signal coverage in the Dallas/Fort Worth market. The application would shift KLIF-FM eleven miles east to the Bank of America Building in Dallas where it would operate with 16.5kW at 264 meters. The station currently runs with 50kW at 120 meters. The application increases KLIF-FM’s signal contour to the 52km maximum allowed for a Class C2 where it will improve coverage of the station in the fast growing northeastern suburbs of Dallas, in towns like Allen, Frisco, and Plano. KLIF-FM has programmed a CHR format as “I93” since September of 2009. In the March 2013 PPM monthly it registered a 2.0 share of the Dallas audience.
Cumulus has announced that Perez Hilton will host a nationally syndicated night show starting May 21. “Perez Nights Live” to be co-hosted by CHR “I93.3” KLIF-FM Dallas morning host Adam Bomb will run from 7-11pm nightly starting May 21. The show will debut on more than 50 Cumulus stations that had been running Dial-Global’s Billy Bush Show including I93.3, “Q100” WWWQ Atlanta, 104.1 KRBE Houston, and 96.3 WDVD Detroit. The show will also be available to non-Cumulus stations.
