After airing a few hours of Christmas Music, the journey has come to an end for Cumulus AC “Journey 93.3” WWFF New Market/Huntsville, AL as it becomes the 21st “Nash Icon” branded Country station. The move returns the frequency to the Country format is previously held from 2008 until 2011 as “The Wolf“. The move will place the station up against iHeartMedia’s market-leading Country 102.1 WDRM. Update 9/2: WWFF did flip to 80s/90s “Journey 93.3” this morning. The station is completely identical to its sister “Journey 97.9” W250BC Atlanta right down to the same first hour music log. Original Report 8/31: Cumulus Country “93.3 The Wolf” WWFF Huntsville, AL has dropped its format and is stunting in preparation of debuting a new format on Friday, September 2 at 9:33am. The station is stunting using a similar loop to those used preceding the debuts of Cumulus’ “Journey” branded AC’s in Cincinnati and Atlanta earlier this year. Unsurprisingly, Journey933.com and 933Journey.com were registered by Cumulus a few weeks ago.
Update 1/15/08: WWFF launched its new format as “93.3 The Wolf” today as had been expected. Original Post 1/14/08: Cumulus’ 93.3 WWFF New Market, AL has begun stunting with Movie Scores. The station has just moved its tower closer to the Huntsville market from its previous location of Tullahoma, TN downgrading from Class C1 with 100kw at 982 feet to C2 with 14.5kw at 914 feet, but with full coverage of the Huntsville market. The station was previously Urban AC as WHRP. Those calls and format now reside at sister 94.1, which had been simulcasting 93.3 as WXQW. It had been previously announced that the station will flip to Country “93.3 The Wolf”.
