Carolina Country 93.9 Debuts In Myrtle Beach

After stunting all weekend with hourly format blocks, Colonial Media & Entertainment flipped 93.9 WJXY-FM Conway/Myrtle Beach SC to Country as “Carolina Country 93.9“. The new format will focus on Country hits from the 1980s through today and becomes the third Country outlet in the market. The new format goes up against Cumulus’ “Nash-FM 106.5” WLFF and iHeartMedia’s “Gator 107.9” WGTR. Colonial Radio Group Expands In Myrtle Beach

Colonial Radio Group is acquiring News/Talk simulcast 93.9 WJXY-FM Conway/Myrtle Beach and 93.7 WXJY Georgetown SC from Cumulus Media’s Joule Broadcasting trust for $240,000. Colonial owns or is in the process of acquiring Silent 900 WNMB North Myrtle Beach, Gospel 1200 WMIR Atlantic Beach and translators for both. The company also owns stations in the Fayetteville NC and Olean NY markets. WJXY-FM/WXJY currently run an all syndicated talk lineup from Westwood and Salem Media Networks including Imus In The Morning. The station also is an affiliate of the NFL’s Washington Redskins network.

Sports & CHR Swap In Myrtle Beach

Update 3/2: Concurrent with the move of Sports programming to 100.3, CHR “I100” will shift to 93.9 WJXY and 93.7 WXJY as “Z93.9“.
