DJ Quicksilva Returns To WKYS & WERQ

After exiting mornings at Urban One’s Urban 93.9 WKYS Washington DC in May, DJ Quicksilva is returning to the station as well as sister “92Q” 92.3 WERQ-FM Baltimore for afternoons. Quicksilva debuted in Baltimore on August 6 and will return to Washington on August 20. He hosted afternoons at WERQ until moving to mornings at WKYS in January 2016. Radio One/DC is excited to announce the return of DJ Quicksilva as the host of the all-new Quicksilva Show. Danni Starr Joins WKYS’ Fam In The Morning

Radio-One Urban 93.9 WKYS Washington DC has tabbed Danni Starr as the new co-host of their “Fam In The Morning”. Starr, who previously co-hosted the syndicated Kane Show at iHeartMedia CHR “Hot 99.5” WIHT Washington and mornings/middays at defunct CHR “96.3 Now” KHTC Minneapolis, replaces singer Lil’ Mo who was let go earlier this month. DJ Quicksilver remains in place as lead host.

Radio-One Shuffling DC Morning Shows

As first teased in the report earlier this month that Tom Joyner would be ousted from his Reach Media syndicated morning show at the end of 2016, Radio-One is shuffling the morning shows at its Washington DC cluster. The moves will start with Joyner shifting from Urban AC “Majic 102.3” WMMJ to Talk 1450 WOL. That will bump Carl Nelson from mornings to afternoons at WOL. Joyner’s vacancy at WMMJ will be filled by the move of the syndicated Russ Parr from Urban 93.9 WKYS. WKYS in turn will debut a new locally originating morning show as Lil Mo and DJ QuickSilva will move from afternoons at sister Urban “92Q” WERQ Baltimore. These changes will all take effect on Tuesday, January 19, 2016.
