Monticello Media has flipped Classic Country “94.1 Hank-FM” 1400 WKAV/94.1 W231AD Charlottesville VA to Christian AC “94.1 The Oasis“. The new format will compete against Positive Alternative Radio’s “Spirit-FM” network which is heard locally on 90.1 WPVA Waynesboro and 106.7 W294BY Charlottesville. The change also leads to a tweak at sister Country “Hitkicker 99.7” WCYK-FM Staunton. The station has rebranded as “99.7 CYK” and added more gold tracks as it faces increased competition from Saga’s recently relaunched “92.7 C-Ville Country” WCVL-FM.

With WKAV dropping Sports, sister News/Talk 107.5 WCHV-FM will break from its simulcast of 1260 WCHV to air Sports programming on weeknights and weekends.
