Entercom Country “94.1 The Wolf” WLFP Germantown/Memphis TN added Melissa ‘Mo’ Turner & Greg ‘StyckMan’ Owens for mornings earlier this week. Mo and StyckMan will continue to be based at sister “US 101” 100.7 WUSY Chattanooga where they have hosted afternoons since earlier this year. StyckMan had previously hosted evenings since joining WUSY in 2012 after 15 years at WGSQ Cookeville TN. With the addition or Mo & StyckMan, previous WLFP morning host Marty Brooks has shifted to afternoons.
Classic Hits are out and Country “94.1 The Wolf” is in at Entercom’s 94.1 WKQK Germantown/Memphis. The new younger skewing Country format takes the station into competition with Cumulus’ “Kix 106” WGKX and Mighty Media’s “95.3 The Rebel” WEBL. Entercom is promoting half the amount of commercials as its competitors with a maximum of six per hour. Chris Michaels remains in place as Program Director. WKQK’s Classic Hits format registered a 3.5 share in the August Nielsen Audio PPM ratings. WGKX was tied for fourth in the market with an 8.0 share, while rimshot WEBL held a 1.3. This is a return of sorts for the station as it was previously New Country “Froggy 94” WOGY from 1992 until 2001.
