Smokey Rivers Named 94.1 The Sound Seattle Program Director

Entercom Soft AC “94.1 The Sound” KSWD Seattle has appointed Smokey Rivers as Program Director. Rivers joins KSWD from Scripps Tucson where he served as Operations Manager since October 2015. Entercom Soft AC “94.1 The Sound” KSWD Seattle is adding Premiere Networks’ Delilah for middays. Delilah, who does her show from studios in suburban Seattle and got her first major market gig at 92.5 KLSY in the early 1980s, will voicetrack a custom show for KSWD. KMPS Seattle Goes Christmas

Entercom made another move on Friday evening as newly acquired Country 94.1 KMPS Seattle dropped its format for Christmas Music. The move makes KMPS the third all-Christmas station in the market joining Hubbard AC “Warm 106.9” KRWM which made the move earlier in the week and Sinclair AC “Star 101.5” KPLZ which made its second annual move to “Santa-FM” yesterday. David Dean Joins KMPS Seattle

CBS Radio Country 94.1 KMPS Seattle has anointed David Dean as its new Music Director/Afternoon host. Dean joins KMPS from sister Country 107.9 KMLE Phoenix where he held similar duties. Dean has spent his entire career at CBS, working at Hot AC “Mix 105.1” WOMX Orlando and News 1070 KNX Los Angeles before joining KMLE in 2010. He succeeds Pat Garrett, who exited last month. Program Director Kenny Jay is moving from CBS Country “Buz’n 102.9” KMNB Minneapolis to sister 94.1 KMPS Seattle. Jay fills the hole vacant since Ed Hill exited in April 2015. He has been with CBS since 2012 as APD and later PD of KMNB and has previously programmed in Savannah, Madison, and La Crosse WI. Carey Curelop, the CBS Seattle VP of Programming who has been handling the day-to-day programming at KMPS since last April, will return to focusing on Classic Rock 102.5 KZOK.
