Wade Linder Moves From WLUP Program Director To WLS-FM

Cumulus Media has completed its Program Director shuffle by naming Wade Linder as PD of Classic Hits 94.7 WLS-FM Chicago. Linder takes the reins of WLS-FM after serving as PD of now-defunct Classic Rock “97.9 The Loop” WLUP-FM since 2014. Prior to coming to Chicago he spent his career in Minneapolis at 92.5 KQRS-FM where he rose to APD/MD and then moved over to Alternative “93.7 The Edge” KEGE and became PD of its successor “93X” KXXR as PD. Following Friday’s exit of Scott Lindy, Cumulus Media is transferring Classic Hits 94.7 WLS-FM Chicago Program Director Brian Thomas to Atlanta to oversee Country “Kicks 101.5” WKHX. Thomas joined Cumulus in 2014 as Program Director of Country “Nash-FM 94.7” WNSH Newark NJ/New York and Corporate Country PD. Dave Fogel Joins WLS-FM For Mornings

Cumulus Media Classic Hits 94.7 WLS-FM Chicago has announced the addition of Dave Fogel for mornings starting Tuesday, January 2. Fogel most recently co-hosted mornings at CBS Radio’s “104.3 K-Hits” WJMK until its flip to Classic Hip-Hop in November. He has worked in the Chicago market since for eighteen of the past twenty one years with stops at 97.9 WLUP, 101.9 WTMX, and a previous run in mornings at WLS-FM from 2010-2013. He has also worked at KBEQ and KMXV in his native Kansas City as well as WAVA Washington DC during its Top 40 era, KSDO-FM San Diego, and WHYT Detroit. WLS-FM Promotes Daniel Wolfe To Assistant Program Director

Cumulus Classic Hits 94.7 WLS-FM Chicago has promoted Daniel Wolfe to the position of Assistant Program Director. Working under Program Director Brian Thomas, Wolfe has worked at the station since 2003 as producer for the station’s morning show, A duty he has retained through three owners and formats. WLS-FM Sets New Lineup With Danny Lake Exit

Cumulus Classic Hits 94.7 WLS-FM Chicago is lengthening airshifts following the exit of 1-4pm host Danny Lake. Morning co-host Kim Berk will add solo duties from 9-10am. Greg Brown moves from 9am-1pm to 10am-3pm, Robert Murphy from 4-8pm to 3-7pm and Jeff Davis adds the 7pm hour to his prior 8pm-12am timeslot. Lake joined WLS-FM in 2008 for weekends and later moved up to afternoons. He spent much of his career on the east coast using the name Bob Worthington at stops including WNSR New York, WYXR Philadelphia, WQSR Baltimore, and WBIG-FM Washington before renaming himself Danny Miller at WMYX Milwaukee.

Kim Berk Joins WLS-FM Morning Show

Cumulus Classic Hits 94.7 WLS-FM Chicago has brought in Kim Berk to join Brant Miller in mornings. Berk comes to Chicago from New York where she had been at CBS Hot AC “Fresh 102.7” WWFS until last summer. Update 10/30: As has been long expected after exiting his short-lived position in San Diego, Jack Diamond is joining Cumulus Classic Hits 94.7 WLS-FM Chicago for mornings beginning Monday, November 3. Diamond will join incumbents Brant Miller and Marti Jones in the 5:30-9am timeslot. He had a one week audition for the job back in July before choosing to go to San Diego instead. After leaving the job at “105.7 Max-FM” XHPRS-FM after just two weeks to return to his family in Washington D.C., Diamond will now make the move to Chicago. Cumulus’ 94.7 WLS-FM Chicago is preparing some adjustments to go into effect on Monday, October 1. Along with new branding of “Chicago’s Classic Hits”, the stations is bringing back two market stalwarts and moving another to a new daypart. WMAQ-TV Chief Meteorologist Brant Miller rejoins the station for his third tour of duty at the station as he joins incumbent Marti Jones in mornings replacing Dave Fogel, who was let go yesterday. Miller had filled the morning slot on the station from 2008 until early 2010 and was most recently heard on Merlin’s “FM News 101.1” WIQI.
