Beasley Media Classic Rock 94.7 WCSX Detroit has promoted weekend host Juline Jordan to middays. Jordan takes the spot previously held by Karen Savelly until her departure this past summer. With her move to middays, WCSX has now made changes in every daypart since this summer. Erin Vermeulen joined incumbent morning host Big Jim O’Brien, longtime afternoon host Doug Podell was replaced by night host Dave Dahmer last week, and Program Director Jerry ‘JT’ Tarrants is now voicetracking nights. Longtime Detroit Rock jock Doug Podell has exited afternoons at Beasley Media Classic Rock 94.7 WCSX Detroit. Podell had been a staple in the market joining WCSX in 2009 after fourteen years at sister Rock 101.1 WRIF and previously served as Program Director at the station. Beasley VP/Corporate Communications Heidi Raphael told the Detroit News, “Doug Podell has departed WCSX-FM and Beasley Media Group in Detroit. Doug spent the past 23 years rockin’ the Motor City with WRIF and WCSX.” With Podell’s exit, night host Dave Dahmer moves up to afternoons and Program Director Jerry ‘JT’ Tarrants is now tracking nights.
Beasley Media Classic Rock 94.7 WCSX Detroit has hired Erin Vermeulen as Big Jim O’Brien’s new co-host. Vermeulen joins WCSX from iHeartMedia News/Talk 640 KFI Los Angeles where she was part of the Bill Handel Morning Show. The Detroit native has also worked in the Denver and Phoenix markets as well as internationally in Cairo, Dubai, and South Africa.
