Curtis Media Country 94.7 WQDR Raleigh NC has appointed Heather Davis as Assistant Program Director/Music Director and midday host. Davis joins WQDR from Cumulus Media’s “103.3 Nash-FM” WKDF Nashville where she has hosted middays since May 2016. Davis previously worked part-time for WQDR and its sister stations in Raleigh as well as spending time as morning co-host at WRNS New Bern and WQSH Albany NY as well as midday host at WGNA Albany and WJYE Buffalo NY.
Rudy Rush has departed afternoons at iHeartMedia Urban “93.7 The Beat” KQBT Houston to focus on his comedy career for now. Rush previously hosted the syndicated “Afternoon Rush” that took the place of the Doug Banks Show following Banks’ passing in 2016. This marks the third tour at Curtis Media Raleigh for Biddle who first hosted nights and later moved up to APD/MD/Midday host from 2002-2007 under the name ‘Mad Dawg’. Lisa McKay passed away on early Sunday morning just two days after taking a leave of absence from her duties as Curtis Media VP/Programming and Program Director/Afternoon Host at Country 94.7 WQDR Raleigh after a brief bout with cancer. McKay had been with WQDR since 2002 and later rose to Station Manager in 2010 and Vice President of Programming for the company in 2014.
