Mikey Fuentes Upped To Riviera Broadcasting VP/Programming

Riviera Broadcasting has promoted Mikey Fuentes to Vice President of Programming. Fuentes has programmed Rhythmic CHR “Power 98.3/101.9” KKFR Mayer/K270BZ Phoenix and Soft AC “95.1/94.9 The Oasis” KOAI Sun City West/K235CB Chandler since 2011. With the promotion he will add day-to-day programming of Hot AC “Hot 97.5/103.9” KMVA Dewey-Humboldt/103.9 KZON Gilbert. Prior to joining Riviera, Fuentes has served as Director of Programming for Impact Radio Boise and PD/Morning Host of 97.3 KKSS and 106.3 KYLZ Albuquerque, and 96.1 KWIE Riverside. Phoenix’ Oasis Adds Second Signal

Riviera Broadcasting Soft AC “95.1 The Oasis” KOAI Sun City West/Phoenix has added an additional signal as 94.9 K235CB Chandler signs-on to bring the programming to the eastern side of the market. Rebroadcasting 103.9 KEXX-HD2, the directional 250 watt signal of K235CB allows the recently launched Soft AC to reach Mesa, Scottsdale, Tempe, and other towns east of Phoenix (Coverage Map). Launched in August 2014, KOAI registered a 1.4 share in the February 2015 Nielsen Audio PPM ratings.

95.1 The Oasis Launches In Phoenix

Update 8/13 3:02pm: After ten minutes of stunting with a few Alternative songs, KVIB flipped to Soft AC “95.1 The Oasis” at 12pm today. The new format takes dead aim at Clear Channel AC “99.9 KEZ” KESZ and CBS Classic Hits 94.5 KOOL. Those points were hammered in by the station’s choice of Little River Band’s “Cool Change” and Eagles “Take It Easy” as the first two songs.
