In the past 24 hours the story of Texarkana Radio Center Classic Hits “Hits 105” 105.1 KTTY New Boston TX and simulcasters 940 KCMC/105.5 K288FY Texarkana dropping Madonna from their playlist has been picked up by nearly every major publication. Let’s call a spade a spade. This isn’t a protest like Madonna expressing herself at the Women’s March in Washington was. This is a publicity stunt. A well designed publicity stunt that gave international exposure to a nondescript radio station in market 253 and made it known worldwide if even for just one day. KTTY Returns With Classic Hits

Texarkana Radio Center has returned 105.1 KTTY New Boston, TX/Texarkana, AR to the air as Classic Hits “Hits 105“. Before going silent last June, KTTY aired a Country format as “Cat Country 105.1“. The stations was sold in November by Towers Investment Trust for $150,000. The new format is being simulcast on Texarkana Radio Center’s 940 KTFS/105.5 K288FI Texarkana. The new format debuted at 4pm on April 19 playing 5,000 songs in a row commercial-free. On May 1, former “Kool 95.1” KEWL morning team Mike & Tex will debut on “Hits 105“.
