95.1 Chicago Goes Clubsteppin

The 1970s/80s based R&B Step Dance format of Lamont Watts’ Clubsteppin.com has come to FM in Chicago. Watts has begun an LMA with an apparent option to buy Windy City Broadcasting’s 95.1 W236CF Chicago and 95.1 W236CG Bolingbrook IL which are fed by Spanish Broadcasting Systems’ 107.9 WLEY-HD2 Aurora. The translators had been airing a broad Rock format as “The Hound”. Watts, the former Program Director of Urban Talk 1690 WVON Chicago, has been operating the webcaster since 2005. Station Sales 4-K’s LLLP is converting their lease of 1550 KDCO/94.1 K231BQ Golden, CO for “Mile High Sports Radio” into an outright buy. Vic Michael’s Advanced Modulation Broadcasting will receive $550,000 for the station and translator. Bristol Broadcasting is acquiring Silent 1350 WNVA and 106.3 WNVA-FM Norton, VA from Radio Wise, Inc. for $35,000. The stations have been off the air due financial and health hardships of the owners. The equipment and studio/transmitter sites of both stations were sold at public auction. Bristol intends to apply to relocate WNVA-FM to a new location within 90 days in order to expedite its return to the air.
