Steve Stewart & Will Calder Join Cox Media Group Orlando

Cox Media Group has appointed Steve Stewart of Director of Programming Operations for its Orlando FL music stations and Will Calder as Director of Branding and Programming for CHR “Power 95.3” WPYO. Stewart will oversee Country “K92.3” WWKA, Urban AC “Star 94.5” WCFB, WPYO, Classic Rock 98.9 WMMO, and Spanish AC “107.3 Solo Exitos” W297BB/WCFB-HD2. With the flip of Rhythmic CHR “Power 95.3” WPYO Maitland/Orlando to CHR on Friday, Steve DeMann has exited his position of Operations Manager for the Cox Media Group Orlando cluster after ten and a half years. Prior to joining Cox in September 2007, DeMann spent two terms at “102 Jamz” 101.9 WJHM in the market including PD from 2001-2007. Cox Media Group has taken Rhythmic CHR “Power 95.3” WPYO Maitland/Orlando FL in a more Top 40 direction. Now positioning as “Orlando’s New #1 For All The Hits”, the move once again gives Orlando two CHR’s following the flip of “Amp Radio 101.9” WQMP to Alternative last fall. Cox Media Group is shuffling the on-air lineup at Country “K92.3” WWKA and Rhythmic CHR “Power 95.3” WPYO Orlando as Obie Diaz slides from mornings at WPYO to WWKA. Diaz makes the rare move from “Orlando’s Only Hip-Hop Morning Show” to Country after sixteen years in mornings at WPYO. He will join Ashley Stegbauer at WWKA starting Monday, October 10. To coincide with that move, current morning host AJ Maguire will slide to afternoons.
