Emily Sklar Joins Hot 99.5 Washington For Nights

iHeartMedia CHR “Hot 99.5” WIHT Washington DC has filled its evening opening with the addition of Emily Sklar. Sklar joins WIHT from iHeart’s “Channel 95.5” WKQI Detroit where she hosted middays since November 2015. She began her career at WKQI as an intern and producer on “Mojo in the Morning” before taking the midday slot. iHeartMedia’s aggressive roll-out of the Woody Show to mornings at its Alternative stations continues as the show debuted on Monday at “Alt 99.1” W256CD Fultondale/WQEN-HD3. Carl Grapentine is retiring from mornings at Window To The World Communications Classical 98.7 WFMT Chicago after 26 years in two stints with the station. Grapentine joined WFMT in 1986 from 105.1 WQRS Detroit, but exited in 1990 for mornings at 97.1 WNIB Chicago. He returned for mornings in 1996 where he has remained to this day. iHeartMedia CHR 104.5 WSNX Muskegon/Grand Rapids MI is picking up sister CHR “Channel 95.5” WKQI Detroit’s “Mojo in the Morning” starting Monday, January 16. Mojo replaces “The Morning After” with Ken Evans & Shmitty at WSNX. Evans exits the station, while Lauren ‘Shmitty’ Smith remains in middays. Ken Evans joined WSNX as APD/Morning host in January 2012 after previously hosting middays under the name ‘Kruze’ in 2004-2005.
