FCC Report 11/5: Denver Translator Move Goes Down In Pillar of Fire

Deletions Pillar of Fire's 910 KPOF Denver purchased Silent 98.9 K255BL Craig CO in May 2016 with the intent to relocate it to Denver with 2w/124m. However in the process of the move, Pillar of Fire failed to deal with the issue that it needed to bring the translator back on the air by November 30, 2016 to keep the translator's license alive. Pillar of Fire eventually filed a Petition of Waiver in March requesting the FCC overlook the passing of the one year silent period by claiming they "misunderstood the statutory limitation on the length of time a station may remain silent, and intended to use the translator to improve its service through the FCC’s AM Revitalization initiative". Family Radio Acquires 950 WPEN Philadelphia

Update 12/19: Conspicuously timed to take place on the day that another group predicts the world will end, Family Radio will return to Philadelphia on Friday, December 21 at 6:00pm when 950 WPEN drops its simulcast of Sports “97.5 The Fanatic” WPEN-FM and brings the WKDN calls back to the market. Original Report 9/21: Harold Camping’s Family Radio will return to Philadelphia as the group has acquired 950 WPEN Philadelphia from Greater Media for $8.5 Million. Family Radio has been heard on 106.9 WKDN until that station was sold to Merlin Media late last year and has since become Conservative Talk “IQ 106.9” WWIQ. 950 WPEN will continue to simulcast Sports “97.5 The Fanatic” WPEN-FM until the sale is complete. Philadelphia Sports Shuffle

Update 3/20/08: The full lineup at “950 ESPN” is set. WPEN will air the first three hours of Mike & Mike from 6 to 9am. Current afternoon driver Jody MacDonald moves to 9am to 1pm. ESPN’s Mike Tirico Show will air from 1pm to 3pm. Mike Missanelli (formerly of crosstown 610 WIP and most recently co-hosting Stephen A. Smith’s national program based out of 1050 WEPN New York) will do 3pm to 7pm. Current midday co-host Harry Mayes shifts to 7pm to 11pm along with new co-host Dan Schwartzman, who was previously doing afternoons on 920 WPHY Trenton before they dropped ESPN in January.
