Dave & Chuck The Freak Expand To Fort Myers

Following the removal of Bubba The Love Sponge last week, Beasley Media Rock “96 K-Rock” 96.1 WRXK-FM Bonita Springs/Fort Myers FL has announced the addition of the Dave & Chuck The Freak Show based at sister 101.1 WRIF Detroit. Dave Hunter, Charles Urquhart and Lisa May joined WRIF in May 2013 after an eleven year run at “89X” CIMX Windsor ON/Detroit. The show was added at “Alt 92.9” WBOS Boston last July. Ron Way Miller Named WRXK Program Director

Beasley Media Rock “96 K-Rock” 96.1 WRXK-FM Bonita Springs/Fort Myers FL has named ‘Ron Way’ Miller as its new Program Director. Miller joins WRXK-FM from Evans Broadcasting “100.9 The Bandit” KURK Reno where he served as OM/PD/Afternoon Host. He will also host middays at WRXK. Beasley Media has named Lance Hale as its Program Director following the promotion of Jeff Zito to WBRN Tampa. Hale joins Beasley from Community Broadcasters in Watertown NY where he programmed Active Rock “94 Rock” WOTT and Country “100.7 The Eagle” WEFX. Beasley Media Rock “98.7 No Rules Rock” WBRN-FM Holmes Beach/Tampa has named Jeff Zito as their new Program Director. Zito joins WBRN-FM from sister “96.1 K-Rock” WRXK Fort Myers where he served as PD/Midday host since January 2015. He has been a longtime personality in the Fort Myers markets as morning host at Alternative “99X” WJBX with Bob Garrett from 1999-2012 followed by a brief midday run with him at WRXK during its short-lived Hot Talk run. Link Launches In Fort Myers

The final piece of the Fort Myers format musical chairs brought on by Beasley has launched. The four translators that had been rebroadcasting Sports “770 ESPN” WWCN prior to its move to 99.3 have launched Modern AC “The Link“. The new station is branded as “Southwest Florida’s Modern Music“. Launching with 10,000 songs in a row, former “99X” hosts Roger Marley and Gabbi are scheduled to relocate to The Link in the coming days. The Link can be heard on 96.5 W243BM Suncoast Estates, 98.1 W251AL Fort Myers, 101.5 W268AH Bonita Springs, and 105.1 W286AK Naples via 96.1 WRXK-HD2. WTLT Claims X Brand In Fort Myers

With Beasley merging Active Rock “99X” WJBX’s music into Hot Talk “96 K-Rock” WRXK, Sun Broadcasting has responded with a flip of its own to keep the X moniker live in the market. AC “Lite 93.7” WTLT Sanibel dropped its format and switched to Active Rock as “93X“. The new format is being branded as “New Rock. New Address.” Lance Ballance remains at the station as Program Director and the station has applied for new WXNX call letters. Listen to the new format here.

K-Rock Fort Myers Goes Hot Talk, 99X Shifts Musically

Beasley Broadcasting has tweaked its pair of Rock stations in Fort Myers, FL. Classic Rock “96 K-Rock” WRXK has shifted to Hot Talk. Bubba The Love Sponge remains in mornings from 6 to 10am. Zito & Garrett shift from mornings at sister Modern Rock “99X” WJBX to middays on 96.1. Stan & Haney remain in afternoons from 2pm to 6pm. The station picks up three syndicated shows to round out the schedule. Lex & Terry from 6pm to 10pm, Nick DiPaolo & Artie Lange from 10pm to 1am, and John & Jeff overnights.
