Jordin Silver Joins 96.5 The Buzz Kansas City Morning Show

Jordin Silver has been appointed new morning host at Entercom Alternative “96.5 The Buzz” KRBZ Kansas City. Silver most recently served as midday and evening host at “Alt 98.7” KYSR Los Angeles until her exit in 2016. She also has worked in multiple roles at iHeartMedia Atlanta including nights at “Project 9-6-1“, weekends at successor CHR “Power 96.1” WWPW, and middays at Alternative “Radio 105.7” WRDA and started her career at Entercom Seattle as night host at “107.7 The End” KNDD Seattle under current KRBZ PD Lazlo. Afentra Out At 96.5 The Buzz Kansas City

After two runs over sixteen years in mornings at Entercom Alternative “96.5 The Buzz” KRBZ Kansas City, Afentra is no longer with the station. Afentra joined KRBZ in 2002 as Kenny Holland’s co-host before taking over as lead host for what was rebranded as “Afentra’s Big Fat Morning Buzz” in 2003. After relocating to sister “107.7 The End” KNDD Seattle in 2007, she moved back to KRBZ in August 2008 and had been there until now. Prior to coming to Seattle she worked at 95.5 WKQI and 99.5 WYCD Detroit. The station is now branding its morning show as “Danny & Mark In The Morning” with longtime co-host ‘Danny Boi’ Terreros and producer Mark Van Sickle taking the reins.

Jury Awards $1 Million To Woman Defamed By Entercom’s 96.5 The Buzz Kansas City

On April 20, 2012 Afentra & Danny Boi of Entercom Alternative “96.5 The Buzz” KRBZ Kansas City asked listeners to send them the names of area residents who “were said to be local porn stars.” Two listeners identified Ashely Patton as such and Danny Boi googled her and found a porn star named “Ashley Payton”. Thinking they were one and the same, the hosts identified her and her former high school on-air. Suing for mental suffering, shame and humiliation, Patton today was awarded $250,000 in damages and an additional $750,000 in punitive damages. Entercom has agreed not to appeal. Social Media Ratings Campaign Leads To Arbitron Cease & Desist To Listener

With ratings on the downswing in April, Entercom Alternative “96.5 The Buzz” KRBZ Kansas City PD Lazlo began a social media based campaign to “Save The Buzz” trying to replicate a similar successful outreach ten years ago. Using the hashtags #SaveTheBuzz and #ListenLonger, Lazlo and other Buzz staffers have pushed their listeners to ensure they spend more time attached to the station with the threat of a format change otherwise. A campaign that has taken on a life of its own.
