A new Urban will debut in Little Rock on August 1. Former “Streetz 101.1” KZTS General Manager Joel ‘DJ No Name” Ratliff Sr. and Al Bradford will begin an LMA of Crain Media Group’s 96.5 KHTE-FM England AR and launch “96.5 The Box“. Ratliff previously worked on air at KHTE-FM during its run as Urban “Hot 96.5” in the late 2000s. The new station will feature Premiere Networks’ syndicated Breakfast Club in mornings and Big Boy in afternoons. James Cain will serve as Program Director and Music Director. When Salem Media takes over 101.1 KZTS Cammack Village/Little Rock on Sunday, April 1 it will move the programming of Conservative Talk “96.5 The Answer” KHTE-FM England to KZTS. Salem will end its Time Brokerage Agreement to operate KHTE-FM, whose programming will revert to owner Crain Media Group. No word yet on what that company will do with the station. Salem has agreed to purchase 93.3 KKSP from Capital City Broadcasting for $1.5 million. Salem is operating both KKSP and KHTE via Time Brokerage Agreements. Update 4/2: Salem has assumed operations of 93.3 KKSP Bryant and 96.5 KHTE-FM England, AR and relaunched both Little Rock market stations. As expected, 93.3 KKSP has flipped from Sports to Christian AC “93.3 The Fish” and relaunched Conservative Talk “96.5 The Voice” KHTE-FM as “96.5 The Answer“. Crain Media will shuffle the formats at two of its Little Rock stations on Thursday, January 10. Talk/Sports “Fresh Talk 93.3” KKSP Bryant will move to 96.5 where it will displace Rhythmic CHR “K-Hits 96.5” KHTE England. The move will allow “Fresh Talk” to focus completely on Conservative Talk as the Sports programming will remain on 93.3. The syndicated Dennis Miller and Mike Huckabee will join a lineup that includes local “AM Arkansas” from 6-8am, Glenn Beck from 8-11am, and Andy Dean from 6-9pm. Remaining on 93.3 will be “Game On With Wess & Michael” from 11am-2pm and the regionally syndicated Bo Mattingly from 2-6pm.
