Entercom Classic Rock 96.5 WCMF Rochester NY has appointed Michael ‘Mud’ Gross as its new Program Director. Gross most spent 12 years at iHeartMedia where he programmed “105.9 The Rock” WNRQ Nashville from 2005-2014 and “Big 105.9” WBGG Miami from 2014-2016. He has also programmed 94.5 WARO Fort Myers and hosted mornings at 100.3 WDIZ Orlando, 105.7 WPNT St. Louis, and 103.1 WHVY Baltimore during his career. Gross will start at WCMF on May 15 and succeeds Chris Crowley who transferred to sister 92.3 KGON Portland earlier this year.

After 22 years in mornings at 96.5 WCMF, Brother Wease was let go today after failed contract negotiations. Entercom, which acquired WCMF from CBS in November, had taken Wease off the air at the end of 2007 while attempting to negotiate a new contract. Entercom released the following statement from RVP Michael Doyle, “We did our best to try and bring Wease back to WCMF, but in the end, were not able to reach an agreement. We understand that he intends to pursue other opportunities.” Effective immediately, Wease’s sidekicks Tommy Mule, Bill Moran and Sally Carpenter will host a new morning show entitled “The Men’s Room”.
